The Wittchen Initiative

The Wittchen Initiative is a unique band featuring two harps, voice and tuba. As Dave Howell of The Morning Call says, "The Wittchen Initiative is an unusual combination. But it works beautifully." The group performs an eclectic mix of tunes that run the gamut from jazz standards to country to pop, Broadway and hard rock. On a mission to surprise audiences by the harp's versatility beyond traditional music genres, the band released its first CD in November 2009. Currently, they’re working on writing and arranging more songs that can spark a revolution in what the harp can deliver – acoustically, amplified, altered, they’re willing to experiment while delivering an exciting audience experience. Their new EP, released in early 2011, includes all original tunes written and arranged by the band. With Alexandra’s extraordinary voice and engaging stage persona, Andrea and Samantha’s virtuoso technique and Dan’s versatile low brass accompaniments, this is one group that really must be heard to be appreciated. It’s like nothing else out there. Sometimes you don't know you're missing something in your life until you hear it. This might just be one of those things.
