“The first time I heard George Clarke I was on a day trip to Whitby. Whilst walking along its Iconic piers I could her the sound of music coming from one of the pleasure craft entering the harbour. Once it had docked at the end of the fish quay I inquired from the ships operators as to just who was sing as they came into the harbour. The crew all agreed that all the Shanties were sung by Whitby’s Sea Shanty Group Coblers Monday. I was pointed in the direction of the Then Tap and Spiel and told that the Guitarist and singer of the song “Paddy Lay Back” could quite often be found playing and singing on a Sunday Night in the Tap. What a great night of live music I was treated to in the Tap. Since then there has been change of name to Whitby's leading Music Venue it is now called The Station how ever it has retained it’s commitment to live music and giving a warm welcome to all it’s patrons. You can check out The Station on it’s New Website http://www.stationinnwhitby.co.uk/”
