The Long Black Veils
The Long Black Veils never intended to be a band or play shows, Rob Avalos (vocals/guitar/harp) just planed on recording music for a personal album in memory of a recently passed friend. He called on his friend Johnny Serpa (drums) along with Robbie Weeks (bass) and started working on a handful of songs. Soon it became a large back-log of material. Becoming a new sound on the local live music scene, not a cover band, not a rock band , not a country band, not a metal band, and not really knowing how to be described by anyone (Just great songs and a classic great sound.), they pushed back the making of the album due to more demand for live shows and the addition of Sean Lowrie (flute/Hammond/Mellotron). Rob finally decided to get back to the drawing board and take a pass at their debut album recorder at "The Otter House" the bands reheasal studio. Two years later than originally scheduled, and a year behind their ever growing sound: an alt./indie/folk/singer-song writer type of rock'n'roll . Not a band who wants to rest, but to always be working on new music and playing shows, who are always looking to broaden their sound and to spread their wings and play anywhere people will have them. They are ready to leave the confines of the central valley and leave there mark in a city near you!!
