No sponsors, no press releases, and no hype, just music. Inspired by international and underground progressive music that draws from the 60's, 70's, 80's, through the 21st century. From high energy to sentimental and reflective, my eclectic music represents my journey. Formerly a collaborative work, I've since struck out on my own and the collected works represent my solo works only. I'm also collaborating with rappers, I like to expand their minds as they expand mine. --Michael-- <Insight Alert> Conversely, I'm somewhat reclusive, eccentric, grumpy, mildly despotic, occasionally lethargic, definitively psychopathic; given to occasions of unexplained euphoria, depression, and musings on the origins of weather. --Michael-- Many are called, few are chosen. <Telling it is like it is> To assist those who wish to pursue a DAW created musical experience: I used Steinberg CUBASE 7.5 (with HALion) but have converted over to MAC based Logic Pro X (ditched the PC), and I am still using Spectrasonics(TM) (OMNISPHERE 2/TRILIAN/STYLUS), u-he (Zebra2, ZebraHZ, DIVA) and Sony Acid Loops; Roland, Yamaha (past), Allen & Heath (past), Presonnus (present), and Digitech interfaces; Ibanez guitars, Blue and Sennheiser mics, Adam and Focal studio monitors, Grado and Sennheiser headphones, and Novation and M-Audio keyboards. Very soon, I will venture into the world of videography, lots of great high tech stuff to choreograph and add more drama to the experience. --Michael-- <How Did I Do This> Courage to make a lot of mistakes, grow, and to know there is music that wants to breathe outside of our minds, bodies, and ego. If you think the beautiful creations you have made are accidental, you might want to re-think your definition of inspiration. I taught myself how to play, record, and engineer everything that are on these tracks. --Michael-- I've got about 64 years of music appreciation, stimulation, and wonderment. It's not that you agree, it's that you find a path less traveled, and make it your own. -- Michael -- How do you know you are a musician? When you are in the third grade and you bring a guitar and butter knife (slide) to school and perform "Russian Music". The stunned look on my teachers face ... PRICELESS. Yeah baby. -- Michael -- Just so ya'll know, every band I've ever joined invited me to leave. Man, there's a lot of control freaks out there. -- Michael -- Learn to live your life day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment , NOW is the gift. For Peace, for Forgiveness,To God we give thanks. Soren Kierkegaard The Italian Romantic ... Albinoni .... Adaggio in G Minor .... The MOST tragic and heart rending music ever composed. Love it. -- Michael -- Other musicians who have deeply affected me: Dhizian and Kamian, Mark Isham, Telepopmusic, Lamb,, Royskopp, Vollendweider, Billy Holliday, Roy Orbison, Stan Getz, Vangellis, Bob James, Wes Montgomery, Voi Vod, Larry Carlton, Clock DVA (Beautiful losers), Santana, Moby, Acoustic Alchemy, The Temptations, CSNY (and all their solo efforts), Skeeter Davis, Brian Auger and the Oblivion Express, Roy Rodgers, Todd Rundgren, David Bowie, Steeley Dan, Return To Forever (all musicians), Weather Report (all artists), Genesis, Little Feet, Moody Blues, Four Play, David Sanborne, The Ink Spots, Night Noise, Hans Zimmer, Angelo Badalamenti, Tingstad and Rumble, Leon Russell, Tangerine Dream, Michael Olefield, ELP, Yes, War, Paul Hardcastle, Daryll Hall, The Strawbs, Diana Ross, John Klemmer, Deodato, INXS, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Patrick O'Hearn, and Bob Dylan (particularly Any Day Now w/Joan Baez). -- Michael. -- (Sheesh...I guess I could go on a little too long here) My brother David gave me the gift to understand the power of horns, he loved Herb Albert, my sister Sheri loved the folk/blues/rock of Led Zeppelin and Stevie Nicks. My father loved Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Schubert, and Dvorák, and my mother loved Antonio Carlos Jobim, The Beatles, Tom Waites, and Patrick O'Hearn. And, of course, living in Chicago during the Motown years, heh, gets in your blood. --Michael-- Before I venture into the physical world, let me state, it's the spiritual world where we make our final choices. P.S. I was informed that the name Kurve has a negative meaning in Eastern Europe. I intended my name to be associated with the word Curve, as in "to bend". Light bends.
