The Deteriorators Blues Band

Where do we start in defining the roots of this group of Albuquerque musicians? Jamming was the key. The musical core of this group evolved over time, and consisted of a number of players, who over the years developed a feel for each others style. This allowed their music to morph from an easy groove to a throb and back. Because of the free flow of musical ideas, these jam sessions became a highlight of the week, allowing players to escape the formula of their 'regular' band's set list, and 'stretch out their chops'. Many hundreds of hours of these recordings are in the BDO Studio archives, but this is another story altogether. Inevitably, and naturally, a band developed out of these fun and musically rich jam sessions. Their originals are an ever expanding offshoot of the evolution of their improvisational beginnings, but structured to convey both creative expression and dance-ability. Whether The Deteriorators are interpreting Blues, R&B, Rock, or Funk cover songs, this band makes the music feel like their own. Creating an energy that the audience finds rhythmically intoxicating, and driving an urge to get up and groove is their forte. There is an ease and warmth to this band's relationship with the audience that draws them into the show that very few musical performers have mastered. Their sound reminds one of some of the great musically vibrant progressive groups such as The Allman Brothers, Government Mule, Widespread Panic, etc. Dynamics with tension and release became a hallmark of The Deteriorators sound. Indeed, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts- so enjoy! We have been busy getting ready to hit the stage in 2015..... watch for us and give a listen as we add some ear candy for ya! The Deteriorators are: Bob Bolz- Guitars and Vocals Dave Williams- Keyboards and Tenor Sax and a host of others... .... and as always, special guests
