The Backbeat

The Backbeat is a cover and original rock band from central NJ trying to recapture the sounds of the 60's along with modern influences, which in essence creates a style all their own. They are all seasoned musicians with the capacity to give you that sweet, melodic, catchy rock n' roll sound you've been searching for your whole life. Their charm and banter during their performances makes any audience feel as though they are right on stage with them. The band formed in the Fall of 06' and have had a few different lineups with Vinny and EJ remaining the core and the song writers of the group. The band has played all over different rock clubs, bars, restaurants, and fairs in New Jersey and NYC. EJ has played as far away as Niagra Falls while Vinny has performed as far away as Montreal and Los Angeles. With always traveling to VA Beach every year for a little summer tour, The Backbeat show they are always willing to try and get their music out to the public anyway they can. They hope to expand their horizons, and continue to take their talent to the next level. In the Fall of 07' they were nominated for Best Pop/Rock Band at the Asbury Park Music Awards after only playing on the scene for less than a year. Their song "Girl From Montreal" has been featured on numerous popular radio stations in the city of Montreal. While other songs of theirs have played on numerous college radio stations, podcasts, and internet radio stations. They are currently in their third lineup, with the seasoned Ken Masson on the drums, which has so far proved to be their best sound live. They feature three different acts, and according to the venue they are playing you can catch them as: a rockin' acoustic duo, a mind blowing acoustic trio, or an amazing electric power trio with Vinny, EJ, and Ken sounding astonishingly like a full band.
