Tamurita

The Tamurita formed in Cagliari, in 2002. In 2005, the band joined the cast of the television program "Come il calico sui maccheroni" on Videolina channel. They played with Kid Creole and the Coconutes, and Roy Paci & Aretuska. In 2006, their first album "Tierra, deserto y sal" and the band signed the first recording contract with CNI. They started a National tour, sharing the stage with Almamegretta, Sud Sound System, Dub Sync. They also won the contest "Alternative Version Festival" in Fermo (Marche). In June 2009, the new album "Palabras de amor" is ready... and Madaski (Africa Unite) looked after the mix. Also in 2009, they participated to "Molo Ichnusa Festival" in Cagliari, proposing the single "Palabras de Amor", performed with Sud Sound System band. In 2010, Tamurita played with No Relax and Gogol Bordello. In june 2011, they released a new unpublished single "Note di Luce", distributed by the daily "L'Unione Sarda". Tamurita's musical "route", contaminates the roots of the popular music, with Mediterranean spices and insular pride... getting a specific, precise and recognizable identity! In 2012, Tamurita signed for Maninalto! In april the new single and video "Dans la musique", produced by Mark Wallis (Mano Negra, U2, TalkingHeads, The Smiths, Marvin Gaye, REM, Travis, Desmond Dekker...), with special guest: Ska-P and Vallanzaska. But the 2012, year that decrees the 10th anniversary of Tamurita, is still full of noveltly: On April 30, the band takes part as guest at "L'Unione Sarda Live Contest" together with national artists like Casino Royale and Malika Ayane, and the Internationals Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. On May 25, to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the University of Sassari, the city organizes a big concert that provides the participation of Tamurita and Frankie Hi Nrg. On June 2nd, the band gets to an event that represents now an island tradition: "Voci di Maggio". For the occasion, the pieces "Dans la Musique" and "Utopia" are proposed and rearranged with the participation of Dava (Davide Romagnoni) and Skandi (Cristian Perrotta) of Vallanzaska. The Special guests for this evening are Roberto Vecchioni and Eugenio Finardi. Meanwhile, collaborations of path continue: On 16 and 17 June is the time of Ittiri and Badesi with the participation of the "Zoo di 105" (a really famous radio broadcast in Italy). But July 20 of 2012 is the long awaited date: a sea of 50,000 faces who dance and sing from afternoon to the night ... Is the "Mondo Icnusa 2012"! At this big concert the band performed together with Negrita and Francesco Renga. The band is currently carrying out the tour 2012 and the closure of the 3rd album titled "I Graffi del Tempo" that represents a raising full of important collaborations...
