Sweet Potato

Drawing from the deep well of uniquely American music, Sweet Potato brings new life to the pop music of the past. Set lists will wander up and down the Missippi River, from New Orleans to Chicago. From Tin Pan Alley to the Great Southwest, their material includes country weepers, jazz standards, Dixieland and Western swing. Two lead singers, a father and daughter, front a group of talented and seasoned musicians, including guitar, pedal steel, dog house bass, and trap kit. Each of them bring their own unique training and experience to this unique band. Influences include Cab Calloway, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Fats Waller, Nina Simone, Sophie Tucker and the Grateful Dead, among countless others. We encourage whiskey sipping, wild dancing and respect for the Elders. Call it hard core Americana, if you like. But call it Sweet Potato! And get ready for some good times!
