Suzy Bravo & The Soul Revue

Set your soul on fire with Suzy Bravo & the Soul Revue! The Revue joined forces in the summer of 2006 that featured members of the Tacoland family; Manny Castillo (River City Playboys/Snowbyrd/Cleofus Trujillo) playing drums, Roland De La Cruz (Los Mescaleros/Masters of Love) on guitar, Eddie Hernandez (Sexto Sol/Maneaters of Tsavo) on bass, and Suzy Bravo singing the leads. About a year later, Paul Ward (The Swindles/Cave Cat Sammy) joined the Revue on drums as well as jalapeno blues man, Frank Rodarte on saxophone. Since then, musicians that graced the stage with the Revue include Juan Ramos and James Moody on drums, Sam Villela on keys, the legendary Richard Potter (this cat plays everything!), and musicians from Grupo Fantasma and Sexto Sol. Today, the Revue has a new addition to the soul family, the amazing scientist-by-day, Thomas Dyer on keys. Now, that's a REVUE! The Soul Revue fuses an explosion of amazing cultural sound that is ignited by its strong Tacoland rooted energy and stay true to the deep soulful history of the San Antonio music scene. The band's set list covers hard hitting songs by artists such as Gladys Knight & the Pips song "Imagination". Other artists covered include, soul man Wilson Pickett, the Reverend Al Green, Texas great Freddy Fender, San Antonio legendary bluesman, Randy Garibay, and contemporary artists such as Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings and The Bell Rays. The Revue also pay favor to legendary soul godfather and godmother, JAMES BROWN and LYN COLLINS. The band has been featured on the covers of San Antonio entertainment and music magazines such as "S.A. CURRENT" in 2007. The article featured a story about the Revue's 1st ANNUAL SUPER BAD JAMES BROWN SHOW. Most recently, in June 2011, "ACTION MAGAZINE" editor Sam Kindrick wrote, "Suzy's voice is deep, soulful, and plenty loud, and she does James Brown like a female "Godfather of Soul" if there ever was one."
