Sounds of Sputnik

Moscow based Sounds of Sputnik play a combined array of post-rock, shoegaze with a slight kickback to noise rock. This sound is inspired by My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Ride, Sonic Youth, Happy Mondays, and Slowdive. The musical semblance of this project is closer to the style of Mogwai, Air Formation, Hammock, Airiel, Jesu, Highspire, The Twilight Sad. Sounds of Sputnik is the solo project of Roma Kalitkin, previously of Sputnik-Vostok and Berlin-Bombay, founded by Ivan Trofimov. Sounds of Sputnik has collaborated with the Canadian-Ukrainian indie rock dreampop shoegaze duo Ummagma and that collaboration continues. Look forward to the forthcoming Sounds of Sputnik EP, to be released in spring of 2013.
