SLEDGE COURTNEY

Born in the Rae Town area of Kingston and grew up in the Grantspen area, another Kingston community and singing to the delight of his friends both on the street and in class where he attend school. As soon as the teacher leaves the classroom he would be on top of the desk singing and entertaining his friends, the same way he did as a five year old singing in Church on top of chairs ant tables. Named Courtney Whyte by his parents he aquired the name SLEDGE from a poppular tv series call SLEDGE HAMMER by his friends and peers alike. SLEDGE took himself and the music serious when he became the lead vocalist for a band call Power Play where he performed at some of the most well known venues across the corperate area of kingston. After leaving Power play Band SLEDGE went on to be the lead singer for another reggae band called Kosmic Krew where he then realize his writing skills and started to penn his own songs and performing them to his audiences to thunderous applauses, SLEDGE decides to go solo and take the music to another level. He started to record his own material which he done well under the Builder s Label. He s now doing well with the release of his debut album entitle After The Storm and is getting worldwide attention and multiple plays on radio and internet stations. SLEDGE is busy performing across the US in places like Maryland, New york, Massachuesette, Pennsylvania and Connecticut just to name a few places....SLEDGE also shared the stage with the likes of sanchez, Freddie mcgreggor, Beres Hammond, Gregory Issacs, Dean Frazer, Frankie Paul, Third World, Tarrus Riley, Mikey Spice, Lust, Capleton, Half Pint, Sugar Minott, the Mighty Sparrow, Calypso Rose, Duane stevenson, just to name a few, when aske about his purpose in the music bussiness SLEDGE reply his job is to spread Inspiration and Love.
