SABINAS REX, a rock opera

We are an international artist collective with backgrounds in music composition, lyrics, voice, dance, theater, digital and fine arts. We come from Europe, Canada and USA. We have made a collection of 20 songs in multiple genres spanning classical, musical theater, rock and metal. It is a creative version of an old Slovakian folk tale from the hometown of our composer, Vlado Kormos. It is dear to him as it is the rich legend of his hometown mixed with modern art and music. It also has the potential to be a magical and epic broadway style production that would be enjoyed by many theater and fantasy fans. The story of the rock opera Sabinas Rex is based on a legend from a small town in the Carpathians of ancient Europe-which has been passed down from generation to generation. The plot revolves around the legend of a young peasant woman, named Sabina, who saved the King in the midst of evading the Tatars. Tatars were the barbarian from the east who had invaded his Kingdom. In addition to the Tatars hordes, the King had to fight terrorists within the nobility of his own kingdom. There were evil Lords that overtaxed and perpetrated brutality toward the peasants. One of them, Lord Gazdashag, formed an alliance with the Tatars with the hope of destroying the Kingdom. The trap, to capture the King was thoroughly thought out, but it didn't go as they wanted when Sabina smuggled him away to safety. In doing so, she found herself suddenly catapulted into the middle of an apocalyptic struggle between good and evil. New Kingdom was born in Carpathian Mountains on the ruins of an old Empire, built on the legacy of Dux Priwina. It was a small nation led by a monarch, the future king. The kingdom stretched from the high mountains of the north to the deep rivers of the southern lowlands. The nation was plagued by Black Death. People who were healthy when they went to bed at night would be found dead by morning. Their bodies were thrown in ditches and covered with earth. As these ditches would fill rapidly, more were dug. On the other side, the Barbarians were growing larger and approaching the kingdom. They invaded, occupied and pillaged everything that got in their way. Times were so bad that even leaves on the trees grew gray. In a green valley, a small town lies hidden, covered in colorful flowers and trees with a lovely river running through it. This river was called the Silver Asyrot, on account of the clearness of its water. In this town lived a young woman called Sabina. This is a story of her adventure in a deep forest where she helped a mysterious hunter fleeing from the Barbarians. In doing so, she was suddenly thrown into an apocalyptic struggle between good and evil. And, thus started her journey to defeat the wickedness, which now seemed to fill the world, foreboding the imminent dangers she was to endure.
