Roza Fox

Roza Fox (Roseann Grant), a Brooklyn-born singer/song writer/ producer/ arranger, brings back what’s missing from music today. Her voice and musical acumen are reminiscent of an era when composition and lyrics meant something to a broad range of people. Her lyrics are what most would find hard to not relate to. Couple that with her beauty and she’s an instant force of talent to be reckoned with. Roza, a beautiful mix of Puerto Rican and Jamaican, was born and raised in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY. Although her parents divorced when she was very young, her father’s musical influence stayed. There were many days when her father would take her into the living room and play a variety of records for her from his own vast collection of music. It was through this exposure that Roza developed a keen ear for music and has truly influenced her sound in a unique way. At the young age of 12, Roza wrote her very first song entitled “They’ll Be Days”. “I believe that music raised me in a sense because I wouldn't be where I am today as a composer.”—Fox When asked what keeps her in love with music, Roza says, “When different artists make good music, it puts me in the mood to create too. Plus, I just have a natural love for music.” Roza’s musical influences came from a variety of great artists such as, Minnie Riperton, Patrice Rushen, Beyoncé`, Faith Evans, Teena Marie, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, and many more. She states that her music style includes sounds from both the past and present music. She describes her talent as being raw; however, many would beg to differ. Upon listening to her songs one can instantly hear how great songstresses such as Riperton and Marie has had an impact on what she puts out lyrically and passionately in her musical arrangements and vocals. For seven years, Roza has been fully immersed in her music. Investing her own money into buying her own equipment has allowed her the freedom to soar with her art like a butterfly. Many are glad that she did, as the songs she has written and produced on her own have turned a few heads and force listeners to actually pay attention to both lyrics and sound. In current times, people often find themselves intrigued with only one aspect of the package. With Roza’s poetic and colorful style, one can’t help but to admire everything. She’s an exotically beautiful woman with an equally matched talent that the world has been denied for much too long. Roza currently resides in New Jersey and continues to work diligently on producing great music.
