Remember Me
Remember Me is my solo project that I started in 2004. I started writing three or four chord songs with lyrics about highschool crushes and life as an adolescent. Originally, I wanted to make acoustic music because I was into punk and liked some projects I heard like Justin Sane or bands like Against Me! I thought the acoustic punk thing was very intriguing, but as I progressed I found myself influenced by a more indie and folk artists such as Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith, Rocky Votolato, Two Gallants, etc. My first recordings were done in 2004 on a little tape machine in my bedroom after school. I was just learning how to play and sing, and that along with the lo-fi aspect of the recordings made it sound pretty rough. As the years went by, my playing got better along with most of the recordings. I recorded on computer microphones in my ex-girlfriend’s livng room, I’ve recorded with digital 8-track at friends’ houses and my own, I’ve recorded more analog stuff in some recent years, and most recently I’ve been recording with a good friend of mine at his school in Minneapolis, MN. My most recent E.P. “The End of a Chapter,” was recorded at this school, and I am currently in the middle of recording a new full length album titled “Haunt Me Tonight” at this same school. I play shows as often as I can, and I’ve been playing solo shows since 2006. I’ve played with countless bands and artists, ranging from folk and indie bands, to playing with punk and hardcore bands, and luckily all of the bands I’ve played with, whether having a similar style to mine or completely different, have shown me respect. I’ve always enjoyed keeping a D.I.Y. mentality with my music, and luckily I’ve had a lot of friends who have been willing to help me out, and I’m really thankful for that. I have my music on a lot of different sites, and also have a lot of stuff scattered throughout the internet for free download! Thank you for taking the time to read this and listen to my tunes! :)
