BIO: The Red Oak Southern String Band is a Athens/Watkinsville, GA based acoustic music group that plays a mix of traditional, bluegrass, folk and blues tunes as well more contemporary folk, rock and blues music. The band's current lineup has been together 10 years. ROSSB has played in Athens, GA as the headliner at the Melting Point, Terrapin Brewery, the Athens Folk and Dance Societies' monthly HOOT, the Terrapin Tuesday bluegrass night, The Front Porch Bookstore, The Big City Bread Holiday Art Show, Artinis', The Art at the Rock Art Show, The Railroad Arts District Art Show, The Athens Farmers Market and The Green Room during Athfest. ROSSB opened up for Packway Handle at the Melting Point and appeared twice on 'It's Friday' on WUGA radio and television. Regionally ROSSB has played The Jefferson Foliage Festival, The Oconee Farmers Market, The Oconee County Farmers Market, Statham Farmers Market, Jittery Joes in Watkinsville, Ashford Manor Bed and Breakfast, The Winterville Marigold Festival, The Bogart Fall Festival, The Thomas Cotton Gin, The Athens Regional Foundation Annual Fundraiser at the Athens Country Club, etc. Privately ROSSB has played numerous art shows, benefits, weddings, birthday parties and anniversary parties.
