Hi all! You're looking at the official ReverbNation page of Radio Crystal Blue! This freeform internet radio program is now in its 7th year spotlighting top nationally touring artists and bands, plus great unsigned and local/regional touring music acts from in and around the NYC area. Based in New York City (OK, Brooklyn) I broadcast from home this live experience that takes a freeform approach to radio. Some older Web-surfers will recognize the concept of freeform radio...having no general direction as to where the music will go, but definitely have a flow at the same time. Live webcasts are Sundays 7pm ET, and run for around 5 hours, sometimes more/less. Archived shows are heard in 3 places: http://cblue.lunarpages.com to hear the last 4 shows in RealOne format, and you can access the podcast versions of each show at my main page, http://www.radiocrystalblue.com via the FeedPlayer (thx to www.bigcontact.com ) Shows are also syndicated via Moozikoo Radio,a sister station on Live365 on Tuesday evenings and Friday afternoons. The shows are personable with different activities that take place each part of the year: An annual online vote to determine which acts to feature for part of the year; my mostly weekly Gem of the Week and Second Stage features, where I devote more time and love to the best acts I have CDs of; occasional traditional seasonal tunes from indie artists, and quarterly and annual charts where I rank artists on both airplay and general exposure (for acts I see at gigs and/or book).
I do field recordings of live events, and you can hear these plus RealOne streams of same at http://cblue.lunarpages.com
On www.radiocrystalblue.com check out the aforementioned charts, links to email-based interviews (some recent interviewees include Nina Blackwood, Jenn Hartmann & Roberta Chevrette), a longer, involved bio page, links to some affiliate programs that also support my efforts, and more!
Yup, I'm on myspace as well: www.myspace.com/4668691
As for live bookings: I work with NYC Gigs www.nycgigs.com a booking agent collective based in New York (where else??) that spotlights top up-and-coming artists at various clubs. Currently we have ties to such rooms as Canal Room, Southpaw, Knitting Factory, Crash Mansion, Ace of Clubs, Bitter End and others. We do monthly showcases under the NYC Gigs banner and are always seeking NYC-based songwriters and bands, as well as others to help us book. More info at the main page, plus at www.myspace.com/nycgigs
Note: All shows listed are for the NYC Gigs events.
Just like with other Web-projects, this page is a work-in-progress. Thanks for reading!
