New Sweat
Growing up together in rural Pennsylvania, Garrett Cummings, Abe Kline, and Taylor Cummings were raised on home-grown music. After playing in high school rock bands and gigging the bars as acoustic acts through college, the trio came together as a three piece band in Raleigh, NC in summer 2007. New Sweat has been regularly writing, recording, and gigging since then, bringing their uniquely funky brand of foot-tapping roots-rock to their listeners. The live show is a set-list-free, sheet music-free, jam-out heavy combination of tight originals and original-sounding covers. New Sweat released their debut LP,' No Instructions' in late 2012 with the help of Raleigh engineer/producer Dick Hodgin at Osceola Studios. The album is an collection of eleven accessible, road-tested songs from the band's first few years on the scene. The 'No Instructions' features contributions from frequent guests including local percussionist Quentin 'Q' Jones, multi-instrumentalist Webb Kline, and New Sweat's recently acquired keyboardist and vocalist Doug McCullough.
