Mockingbyrd’s no frills rock ‘n’ roll sound elicits musical sentiment reminiscent of Jeff Beck, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. Brought together by their desire to transcend the current rock scene by creating classically edgy, guitar-driven rock, Mockingbyrd’s frontmen Brian Bandas and Schylar Shoates began working together in July of 2010 and quickly realized their partnership must have been divinely appointed. Fresh off the heels of a five-year career with the Top-10 hit producing group Love and Theft, Bandas’ propensity for hard-nosed guitar playing and gut wrenching vocals found its creative counterpoint in session musician and former Money Penny guitarist Shoates. Together the two Nashville-based musicians wrote, performed and produced their first EP and are busy preparing for a heavy upcoming touring schedule this spring.
