Mindy Callahan
Born and raised in Bedford, Ohio – a small picturesque town near Cleveland, Mindy Callahan began performing on stage at the age of five. Her great grandmother forced her to audition, and the reaction and excitement of the directors launched Mindy's musical career. By fifteen Mindy had already sung lead vocals on two children's albums, with songs airing on local and national radio stations; she also appeared as a guest soloist on a Gospel Album. During these early, formative years, Mindy performed over fifty shows across the northern United States, many times performing alongside national recording artists. She made numerous live appearances radio networks and television shows, and regularly performed NBA, WNBA and MLB games. By sixteen, with her resume rapidly growing, Mindy released an independent solo album entitled "Jesus Is." God blessed the effort, as the album achieved immediate local success, grabbing the attention of many management companies. A few years later Mindy married her childhood sweetheart and soul-mate, Neil, and life cruised along smoothly until the tragic death of her father, at the age of forty-four. Less then a year later she lost her maternal grandmother. Mindy put her musical dreams on hold to support her mother and family both financial and emotional through this heart-rending time. However, God used the difficult season to reveal to Mindy His purpose and plan for her life. In 2008, after her three year break from singing, Mindy began leading worship at her home church, The Gospel House, where God slowly began to stretch, mold, and reshape her gifts. With the undying love and support of her husband Neil, and the continuous encouragement from family and friends, Mindy once again pursued a professional music career in the hopes of releasing a new album. Her quest led her to renowned Cleveland Producer, Frank Vale. After recording her first song for the album, Frank introduced her to the highly-acclaimed singer/songwriter Paul Sanderson in Nashville. The duo worked with Mindy, and under their direction, she recorded original music that providentially found its way into the hands of the national distribution label, TMG, who offered her a recording contract in early 2011. Mindy's album, "Redeeming Love", is a collaboration of music brimming with emotion, encouragement, and faith. Mindy pours her heart into each song, hoping to make an impact on the world through the ears of each listener. "There is nothing that completes me more than singing," Mindy said. "It fills my heart with indescribable joy. God has entrusted me as a steward of the gifts and talents He has given me, and it is my desire to glorify Him with them for the rest of my life. John 3:30." You can follow Mindy at www.facebook.com/mindycallahan, Twitter and listen to her music on youtube and myspace.
