Mike Marcellino

Mike Marcellino, two-time national award winning newspaper reporter and U.S. Army photojournalist in the Vietnam War, continues to write stories and poems about people, places and things. Mike has added a twist, with musicians the stories become a new brand of avant-guarde lyrical poetry music. He’s performed in New York City (Spike Hill, Gallery RIVAA, Cornelia Street Cafe, ABC NORIO, Roosevelt Island Fall for the Arts Festival) Cleveland (Barking Spider Tavern, Peabodys, Mac Backs Books, International Human Rights Day 2009), St. Augustine, FL, Tulsa and Baltimore. Mike is #21 Top Folk Artists, New York City chart on ReverbNation. Recently he was #10 Hot Folk Artists - Global chart. Tomas Texino, a Florida musician, composes the music (except on "Flatbush" composed by Brooklyn, NY musician Randall Leddy). Since the fall 2009 the band has recorded 10 songs. In 2012, the band has released "Woody Blues," "Scottish Pipes" and "Into the nowhere zone." "Taipei subway" was recorded in November 2011. Other recordings include "West of the Pecos," "Flatbush," "Bondi beach." and "The Walls of Fire," an ode to the sacrifice of American troops. Mike's poetry songs and recordings appear in online magazines such as Soundzine, Travel Curious Often, BAP Quarterly, Literary Fever, Outsider Writers and Universe of Poetry. Mike's lyrics and poetry are published in Stain Glass Confessional II, Brownstone Anthology &, Red Fez among others.
