My journey with my guitar, and most recently banjo began when my parents signed me up for group guitar lessons when I was 10. My teacher was an ex sideman for the Grand Ole Opry. I continued my guitar studies on and off for many years, while listening to a variety of music all the time. As a result, I have a substantial amount of other people's songs committed to memory, and a small batch of original material. I count among my influences Son House, Corey Harris, Jerry Garcia, Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Blake, Blind Willie Johnson, just to name a few.
