“MAYA OVER EYES Interview with Jason (drums) By Jen Canipe With a pure heart of metal and the ability to thrash your mind into a frenzy, San Jose, CA based MAYA OVER EYES is back with their new EP, Rebel Alliance on Negative Progression Records. Before the guys hit the road with a vengeance in support of Rebel Alliance, they took some time to talk to us. How was Maya Over Eyes formed? Maya Over Eyes was formed in 2004. A few of us were high school friends and the other half were dudes we had met through mutual friends. Most of us had the same taste in music and interest to start jamming. A few songs were written and we started playing in and out of San Jose. Ozzy and Edder are the only original members. Paco had always been around to give us a hand and later became a part of Maya. We’ve had quite a bit of lineup changes, but have since solidified from a 6 to now a 4-piece. ”
