Marty Winkler

Marty Winkler is a nationally known singer-songwriter who started performing her own compositions in public when she was 13. A Nebraska native, she studied opera at Hastings College in her home state and later worked with noted Broadway vocal coach Norman Fields in New York and in Minneapolis with Marilyn Habermas-Scher, with whom she founded a regionally popular women's a cappella group, The Collective. Now based in Athens, Georgia, Marty has sung pop, folk and jazz in clubs and festivals around the United States and has recorded three self-released CDs:"Heavenly Bodies" (1998), "Kissing Minneapolis Goodbye" (2001) and "Under Your Heart" (2008).
