“Hundreds of people gathered at Smiley Hollow Sunday to help raise money and show support for a young Robertson County father suffering from a rare and deadly brain tumor. Besides family and friends in the community, musicians from across the country performed at the event. Mandy Zahn, who leads the band Mandy Z and Rural Route One, has been personally touched by brain cancer. “I have a brother that I lost to an inoperable brain tumor as well as a cousin,” Zahn said. “My brother was diagnosed when he was 26 with a wife and two little girls and we lost him when he was 29. My cousin was 9 and we lost him when he was 12. So this is something that was very near and dear to my heart"”
