Los Musicos de Jose

Since 1997, Los Musicos de Jose makes a powerful instrumental music, similar to funk, addressed to the feet, guts and both hemispheres of the brain. Fun and danceable music, but dunk and search. Organic, lively and robust, ideal for these post laptop times, with an committed address that is refreshing now a days. Jose is not the singer of the band, nor music director neither the producer. In fact, Jose does not even play in the band. Jose is a good friend of them who likes their music since they started. The band is from Mexico City. It is composed by seven musicians: drums, bass, guitar, trumpet, percussion, keyboards and two saxophones. It is difficult to categorize their music because it is not rock or jazz or funk itself. The truth is that the songs change abruptly, a song can take different directions. Each track is a journey in itself, with a beginning, development, sometimes further development and, often, two or three finals. Los Musicos de Jose makes party music with a real proposal. The band is currently playing at theaters, all kind of festivals, bars and parties. They won for the last two albums Independent Music Awards in Mexico. They have performed in international festivals such as the Celebrate Mexico Now in New York (2008), the International Jazz Festival in Mexico City (2006), Chinto Mendoza in Mexicali BC (2007), the Jazz Fest Xalapa Veracruz (2009) , FAOT in Sonora (2008), International Fest in Chihuahua (2007), among many others. They also played in the 2007 and 2010 editions of Festival Vive Latino in Mexico City and shared the stage with Groove Collective at the Hard Rock in Guadalajara in 2006.
