"Drummer-Songwriter-Performer for many years, I'm currently working on some new songs and learning some new techniques with some great new gear. Go with the flow, but keep your roots.

BEST ADVICE = BE "ORIGINAL"! Write songs from experience, from your heart. It's easy to tell a REAL song from a formula song. Network with songwriters, producers, and performers. NO ONE can make it alone in the music business, so make friends and new acquaintances. You never know what can happen. Write from your heart, play your best, be yourself, and the rest will fall into place :)

Hey, thanks for stopping in and listening. I've been drumming for most of my life, then the songwriting 'bug' hit me. I had no choice but to learn to play other instruments and figure out recording techniques. Studied mixing technique and the board with Skip Frasee of Dallas (thank you Skip), and I studied music at NTSU (now UNT Denton). I've played in numerous bands, done a lot of studio work, concerts, cover-bands, original bands and all of my original songs. If anyone out there has to use a DRUM MACHINE, don't try and program all the 'licks' in it for a demo - it will just sound corny. Find a groove, let it go, then work your song. After 10 seconds? No one will notice, they will just hear your song. Plus, it provides a non-variable groove for your song's base.

The first songs in the songlist above are my own original songs(music & lyrics), performance, all instruments, vocals, and demo mix. The remainder of the songlist is comprised, mostly, of bands & projects I played drums for, either LIVE performance, or in the studio for CD recording projects.

The most important things to remember with music, in my personal opinion as a sonwriter, are fairly simple:

1. BE ORIGINAL = don't copy or try to sound like someone else. Be uniquely YOU, use that to your advantage.

2. THE SONG is the most important thing - period. If people like the song? They might not like YOU, but they will not forget the song - try to make the song MEMORABLE - Write it from experience, not using some formula, some made-up embellishments. Remember, reality is more interesting and is more likely to be something people can relate to. You wrote it, but with the thought of hoping others would like it, as well, right?
