Reviews WHOLENOTE Magazine: review for " I Can See Clearly Now " 2017 CD In all songs Gorman reveals a singular virtuosity that eschews showmanship and accentuates a phrasing style pregnant with emotion.- Raul da Gama As Gorman plays on, she manages to deepen or alter the perspective of some songs that we've all grown to love. "Can't Help Falling In Love," for example, is freed from Elvis' grip....In Gorman's hands, the song seems to become a mesmerizing cousin of Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin's "I Can't Make You Love Me." Brown's trumpet evokes a keen sense of longing that connects perfectly with the mood. Gorman does right with Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now," adding some rhythmic lift to the song, and she brings beauty to bear on Carole King's "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?," ...these form a gorgeous trinity that elevates I Can See Clearly Now. - All About Jazz 2017 The Calgary Herald writes: ( Review for Gorman's 2009 CD " Brand New Day " ) "A brilliant composer and lyricist, the talented Kathleen Gorman invites us on a journey of the heart, exposing universal intimacies which resonate from the opening note. Soulful, poignant, uplifting....One of the best new original albums of the year. " The Jazz Network's Steve Getz writes: " Her voice has a certain sophistication and grace: A beautiful, refined and elegant instrument which conveys love and a certain sense of longing. Ms. Gorman is a song stylist who has crafted her very own, singular approach to the art of singing...." "..a wonderful talent. ", Sheila Jordan, jazz legend "The songwriting is solid and mature, the vocal expression is just fantastic... Mitch Goldfarb, Producer/Engineer, Lou Rawls, George Benson, Eddie Gomez, Bon Jovi. " She sings, plays, writes, composes and produces with the best of them, making music rooted in jazz that is accessible and contemporary...a fantastic new contemporary voice!
