Justin James Bridges

Justin James Bridges is an American singer-songwriter and musician known for his versatile guitar work and powerful vocals. Born in Bandera, Texas, JJB has been touring the country and gearing up for his next albums. Bridges plays music from the soul and doesn’t know any other way. Self-taught by listening to legends like Hendrix, Muddy Waters, and The Doors, JJB’s distinctive picking style and fret work are reminiscent of earlier times in American music. As he developed, Bridges added in aspects of other music including funk, soul, hip-hop, and even some reggae to fill out his sound and give him the unique genre blending style people have come to love. On Nov 13th, 2011 Bridges was attacked by the police while interpreting for the deaf at Occupy Portland, leaving him without the use of his right arm for months and confining him to a wheelchair for over 3 years. Movement came back to his thumb almost 2 months after the attack and JJB was back playing his guitar on stage, in a wheelchair, by the following January. It’s been a long, challenging road but now JJB is back on his feet, out of the wheelchair, and dancing around once again while on stage all thanks to cannabis and massage therapy without the use of pharmaceuticals. In 2014 Bridges co-founded the Cannabis Common Sense Tour with Larry “LK” Kirk and went to 11 states spreading education and awareness about cannabis and hemp. The goal of the tour was to reach as many people as possible to help influence the vote and push for federal legalization while raising money for the commissary accounts of non-violent cannabis prisoners. The Cannabis Common Sense Tour will be on the road every 2 years to match the election cycles and help continue the fight for legalization until every non-violent cannabis prisoner has been released and we have reached full legalization.
