Joshua168 Joshua Jenkins better known as Joshua168 was born and raised in Houston, TX. Brought up in a Baptist church, Joshua began his work in music with the church choir. At the age of 13, during one of the choir workshops, he was blessed with a prophetic word stating he would one day be a soldier and live out his life under GOD’s command as somewhat of a modern day Joshua of the bible. Taking this prophecy with a grain of salt, Joshua ignored his calling until 2001 when he found himself in his third year of service with the armed forces. It was there he started to believe his purpose. Aware of his calling, Joshua ventured into the music business doing secular rap under the name J Deuce, given by childhood friends. Living an unholy lifestyle, Joshua always tried to stay connected with the Father. While most of his music was very street and hardcore, he would always dedicate a song to Jesus. After soul searching and rededicating his life to Christ, Joshua decided to revamp his image. Expressing his love of God through music and reaching the lost souls of our world, Joshua168 is quickly beginning a buzz in the streets of Houston, with expanding popularity reaching as far as Africa and United Kingdom. He is now turning the heads of other established Christian Rap Artists and major labels. Never losing sight of why he does this, he is bringing people closer to the body of Christ one song at a time. The name Joshua168 is inspired by the biblical scripture Joshua 1:6-8. “6 Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. 8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”
