JOHNNY AND THE REST

JOHNNY AND THE REST is a London/Reykjavik based four piece band originally from Reykjavik City in Iceland. Two lead singers & guitarists Bragi and Hrafnkell. Johann plays on bass and Thor grooves on Drums. The music of JOHNNY AND THE REST has evolved in all kinds of directions since the band was founded few years back. Starting as a raw 70's Blues Band to more progressive and darker/bigger/lighter fields as can be heard on their second album, 'Wolves in the Night', which they just released late December 2013. JOHNNY AND THE REST is known for playing a great combination of different music styles, even abnormal but smooth and groovy. The self-titled debut album came out in 2008, on the menu was raw screaming bluesy rock with a hint of relaxed soul/jazz. Since the band was founded, JOHNNY AND THE REST has played over 300 concerts in Iceland, UK and Norway. Played all of the major festivals in Iceland, ; Secret Solstice, Iceland Airwaves (2007 and 2010), Icelandic Blues Festival, Nordic Blues Festival, Blue North Music Festival, Icelandic Folk Festival...etc. The two first singles from the album, “Mama Ganja” and “Wolves in the Night”, have reached the topchart of Iceland´s main radio statons, The National Radio 2, X-ID and chosen "Record Of the week" on both stations.
