John Moon
Well known Australian lead guitarist from the 70's and 80's. Has played with many well known Australian musicians in bands and session work. Musical History: 1973 - 1975 - Buster Brown (the band that Phil Rudd was in before he joined AC/DC, and Angry Anderson before he was in Rose Tattoo. Released one album). 1978 - 1980 - Jim Keays Band (Jim Keays was the lead singer of the Masters Apprentices who were one of Australias biggest bands in the 60's and 70's. Released one album). 1982 - Mike Rudd & The Heaters (like Jim Keays, Mike Rudd is one of the legends of Australian Rock music. The Heaters released a couple of albums but this was before I joined.). 1982 - 1983 - W.H.Y., (again with Mike Rudd and Bill Putt, this band was 10 years ahead of it's time in the technology that was used by the band - computers and video all in perfect sync to the music - this band was signed by Klaus Schultz' German record company IC Records and recorded an album in Germany that received great reviews in Europe but the band split up after arriving back in Australia due to lack of work and financial problems caused by a lack of vision from the Australian Music Industry... what a waste! Released one album). 1983 - Living Legends Blues Band (the name says it all.....) 1985 - The Incredible Penguins (a hodge podge of successful Australian musicians who would make guest appearances on a rotating basis. They recorded a xmas single that reached Number 10 on the Australian record charts in 1985 it featured most of Australia's top artists at the time as well as Bob Geldof). 1985 - Pound for Pound (also consisted of ex Mondo Rock, Blackfeather, and Uncanny Xmen members. This band had strong industry interest in Australia and the U.S.A. but it was not meant to be..... could've been anything). 1986 - 1988 - Men Without Shame (cover band that worked hard, and was HOT! Like the Penguins, well known Australian singers would also make guest appearances. This was also Juno from Roxas first professional band, of course he went on to form Roxas who had quite a bit of chart success). 1993 - 1994 - Men Without Shame (same band 4 years later only playing original music - NO covers!). 2010 - Present - Loco Corvette. This is a recording only band that also features members from Air Supply, Mondo Rock, Blackfeather, Steve Housden Band, and Freeway. The first album is being released early 2012 and is an album of Hard Rock originals. This album has been recorded via the Internet owing to the members living in various parts of the world. 2011 - Blowfly Farm. This is also a recording only band featuring some of the members of Loco Corvette and American Based band Laslo Cameo. The debut album titled Wide Open Land was released in February 2012. 2015 - The Uploaders. R 'n B and Soul influenced album that received a lot of airplay on regional radio stations throughout Australia. 2019 - Sharkfin. This is a blues album of classic covers.
