John Caruana

John has been playing drums and guitar since 1959 when he was 11 years old and played out with numerous bands during the 60’s and early 70’s in and around his native Brooklyn, NY. Then came marriage…and kids…and jobs… In 1998 he picked up the bass guitar after hearing too many bass lines in his head. When medication didn’t help, it became his primary instrument. Since then, John has been a 5-time master class student at The National Guitar Workshop; he has played at the famous Bitter End in Greenwich Village twice and in numerous clubs in New Jersey and Connecticut. Before moving to Texas in 2010, John founded and led a 13-piece (five horns) blues band in New Jersey for seven years with his daughter Kate as the lead vocalist…err…INCREDIBLE lead vocalist! In real life, John holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning and is a full time Consulting Process Architect in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He also qualifies for Medicare. Currently looking for a permanent band that needs a blues/rock bassist with lead and harmony vocals. West Fort Worth area. Pro equipment; reliable transportation. Music Note: The music on my site is intended to demonstrate: 1. Bass competency; 2. Lead and harmony vocal capability; or 3. Any combination thereof. In the studio and subject to audio editing; b. In the studio but for a live radio show with no editing done whatsoever; or c. live at gig venues (live scratch) with only minimal, single track normalization and reverb applied.
