Joe "The Biz" Bizelli

Joe Bizelli was born in 1985 in the small town of New Melle, Missouri. His mother's love for music led to having a radio playing in Joe's room on low volume 24/7 since the day he was brought home from the hospital. To this day, he still falls asleep to the Golden Oldies Pandora station. His parents always encouraged and supported his music, even at young age. It started with a keyboard, then the baritone in 5th grade, the tuba in middle school, then progressed to acoustic guitar in high school and eventually his first band: Good Question. “We loved playing battles. That was our thing. We won every one we played except the biggest one we played in Milwaukee. That was actually a nice reality check for me and helped prepare me for the rejection that I've faced so far on my journey.” -J.B (Boone County Connection) In May of 2015 Joe went to Nashville to meet and spend the day with professional songwriter Marc-Allen Barnett on a “songwriter tour”. “I learned a lot from Marc. He taught me about song structure, prosody, the music industry, co-writing, networking, and much more. I was spoiled down there because my very first time at The Bluebird, I got to see and meet Neil Thrasher, Jim Collins, and Wendell Mobley. After speaking with them, there was no doubt in my mind I was meant to be a professional songwriter and I would do whatever I needed to do to make that happen.” -J.B. (What's Up St. Chuck) Since then, Joe has been writing a lot and trying to learn the craft of songwriting through books, articles, videos, and by listening and studying legendary songwriters. Lucky for him, he recently started co-writing with Donna Opfer, the president of the Nashville Songwriters Association St. Louis Chapter. “Donna has taught me so much about songwriting that I wouldn't even know how to begin thanking her.
