"Jim has performed all over the world with his heart felt original compositions and upbeat songs on positivity and life. Given just one listen, almost anyone can find themselves living in the poetry and music of Jim St. James."
About
"Hailing from the greater Chicagoland area in Gary, Indiana, Jim St. James is a natural born songwriter. His father Jim Sr., bought him his first guitar from a Gary pawn shop after the two of them watched an Elvis Presley movie when Jim was 11. Shortly after learning a few chords- he began writing songs. His unmistakeable trademark style started to emerge in the mid 1980's and he began performing at various open mics and writers jams in Northwest Indiana while operating his own bohemic styled, music orientented coffee house called 'The Fret Haus Cafe' for 6 years. Though the coffee house was an eventual success as so far as providing an 'outside of Chicago midwest music hub', by 1998 it was time to move on...
Restless to be 'heard' as a songwriter and composer instead of performing 'cover songs' locally, Jim left Indiana and spent substantial time living and performing in the original music rooms of Nashville, Los Angeles and Austin, while further honing his skills and building a name for himself on the country, americana and pop rock scenes. In 2007, his song 'Caroline' went to number 1 on the independant music charts.
Jim has released four CDs and two DVDs thus far and is now in production of his 5th CD scheduled for release this coming October. You can catch him playing around the Nashville area (check show schedule) and can purchase his CD's, DVD's and digital downloads through this website, or from most music sites on the web like Walmart.com, Apple iTunes, Rhapsody Music, Amazon.com, CD Baby and many others."
