Jesse Medeles

Jesse Medeles is a singer-songwriter, actor, rapper and dancer from San Antonio/Laredo, TX. He has made a notable impression as a recording artist since he decided to dedicate his life to music. His musical style is influenced by all the different cultures he grew up around, including the Mexican culture. Born in a very poor family, Jesse was a “regular” at the fields by the age of five, where, alongside his parents and siblings, would help harvest crops like cotton, fruits, vegetables, and hay in order to earn an honest living. By the time he was nine, he lived in an unstable environment that essentially left Jesse and his four siblings to fend for themselves. The workers at the fields became his extended family, and he witnessed many of them being taken away by border patrol agents. With the help of his grandmother, who stepped in as the adult/guardian figure, Jesse kept a path of honesty and hard work. At the age of 17, he went back to school and ultimately graduated from College, but music always played a big part in his life and he felt that entertaining people was his calling. Writing and singing was his escape from all the pain; it was the only time that he could fantasize about making his dreams come true. Growing up in the streets, Jesse wrote about real life experiences and drew influences from Pop, Rap, Cumbia, Indian rhythms, and Tejano. In 2005, Jesse began recording with important Texas producers trying to find his sound and style. Soon, he was performing at events like the San Antonio’s Puerto Rican Festival, Laredo’s Jamboozi Festival, and Houston’s Autorama show, where he won the “Best Performer” award. Jesse’s big break came when he moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2013 to pursue his dreams and was signed as an independent artist to celebrity music producer “J2”; the man behind songs like Shakira’s FIFA World Cup song “La la la”. He recorded two tracks, “Viva” and “Sucia”, which he quickly got to perform throughout 2014 when he landed the opportunities to open for Ana Bárbara, Ivy Queen and Belanova on tour. These performances allowed Jesse to reach over 500K people and form a strong foundation for his more than 78K followers today. Simultaneously to music, Jesse Medeles has began to establish himself as an actor, starring in recognizable films such as Snitch (2013), Alone Yet Not Alone (2014), One Heart (2015), Dirty Lies (2015), among others. Jesse Medeles is fresh off the heels of the release of his first official single, “Sucia.” The song was released on all digital music platforms on October 2, 2015 accompanied by the official music video on his VEVO/YouTube channel. The single has rapidly gained popularity and reached #1 on the Top 20 National Latin Dance Charts across the U.S. and it continues to gain recognition in nightclubs, Bars, Lounges, and Record Pools internationally. His second single entitled "AMOR" releases on September 15, 2016 on all digital platforms accompanied by the very anticipated music video on September 29, 2016, via VEVO. Jesse is showing no signs of slowing down as he embarks on his U.S. promotional tour. He has also revealed that his complete EP is already done and set to release early 2017. Desde que decidió a incursionar en el mundo de la música, ha dejado una impresión notable con sus seguidores y amantes de su sonido. Su estilo de música es influenciado por diferentes culturas, con las cuales creció, incluyendo y mas notable, la mexicana. Nacido de una familia muy pobre, a el cantante le toco trabajar en el campo cuando solo tenia cinco años, con sus hermanos y padres, para ayudar a cosechar algodón, frutas, y vegetales, para poder comer y hacer dinero honestamente. A los 9 años su familia paso por una inestabilidad y se encontró solo con sus 4 hermanos y sin ayuda. Los trabajadores en los campos pronto se convirtieron en su segunda familia, y le toco ver como a muchos de ellos se los llevaban los agentes de la patrulla fronteriza. Con ayuda de su abuela, que se convirtió en su figura materna, Jesse continuo a trabajar y aprendió que lo que uno se propone lo puede conseguir. A los 17 años, volvió al colegio, y llego a graduarse de la Universidad, aunque el siempre supo que nació para entretener con su música. Escribir canciones y cantar fue siempre su escape de todo el dolor; era la única cosa que lo ayudaba a soñar de todos sus anhelos y metas. En sus canciones están plasmadas sus experiencias de crecer en la calle, y sus influencias de Pop, Rap, Cumbia, ritmos Indios, y Tejano, son parte de escencia. Su gran momento llego cuando se traslado a Los Ángeles, CA en el 2013 y firmo con el productor estrella J2, el hombre tras la cancion exitosa “La La La”, de Shakira para FIFA, y proyectos con artistas de la talla de Pussycat Dolls, Beyonce, LL Cool J, para nombrar algunos. Grabo con el productor dos canciones “Sucia” y “Viva”, y en el 2014 tuvo la oportunidad de abrirle los conciertos a Ana Bárbara, Ivy Queen y Belanova. En estas presentaciones, Jesse llego a mas de 500K personas y cuenta con mas de 100K seguidores en medios sociales actualmente. En conjunto a su carrera como cantante, Jesse ha trabajado como actor en películas comoSnitch (2013), Alone Yet Not Alone (2014), One Heart (2015), Dirty Lies (2015), entre otras. Este mes, Jesse lanza su mas reciente sencillo musical titulado “AMOR”, que desde el 15 de Septiembre esta en todos los sitios digitales de música. La canción cuenta con un video musical magistral, con influencias indias y árabes que le da un toque colorido y alegre a este nuevo proyecto.
