Iain Leslie

Iain Leslie has been studying guitar for over 14 years. Iain has had the privilege of studying with some of Canada's top musician's, including Geoff Young, Don Palmer, Collin Barrett, Ted Quinlan, Tony Zorzi, David Occhipinti, Joey Goldstein, Andy Ballantyne, Kieran Over, and Jeff King. Iain has a Certificate in Jazz Performance from Humber College, and is now working towards his Bachelors of Contemporary Music also from Humber Collage. Iain has been a featured performer at The Oakville Jazz Festival (2013) as well as performing twice on the Youth Spotlight Stage at the festival. He has performed at many different venues across the GTA, including The Rex, The El Mocambo, The Moonshine Cafe. Iain has also spent time working in musical theatre pit bands with musical directors Anthony Bastianon (The Wedding Singer, Seussical) and Tara Litvack. Iain has had the privilege of playing with some of Canada’s finest and up and coming musicians, including Bruce Cassidy, Vito Rezza, Calvin Beale, Mike Ferfolia, Daniel Panetta, Conor Gains (Maple Blues Award Nominee), Marika Galea, Jarrod Ross, Taylor Cook, Robin Claxton, Brad Cheeseman, Sam Pomanti and ColinResponse. Formed in 2011, The Iain Leslie Band is made up of current and former Humber College music students. Playing there own mix of Funk, Jazz and R&B with great emphases on groove and improvisation. Iain and the band keep a busy performance schedule having played more then 30 shows in 2012. Performances included a residency at The Moonshine Cafe, The Kerr St. Summer Festival and a live performance on The Weather Network.
