Hoarsebox

HOARSEBOX are........... Four guys from varying backgrounds (Peruvian / Indonesian amongst them), and are essentially Dublin guys with an international outlook. The band combines artful instrumentation with extraordinary four-part vocal harmonies, bucket loads of energy and insatiably upbeat melodies. In the last six months things have really taken off for Hoarsebox. The band embarked on two highly successful US mini-tours promoting their 2008 EP Cuckooland, selling out well-known club circuit venues in New York such as Arlene’s Grocery and the Mercury Lounge. As an indicator of how sought-after the band are now becoming, Hoarsebox were also featured as Artist to Watch by Clear Channel (the world largest radio station owner) on their global website for the entire month of April 2009. Following the industry scrum that emerged for the band this year, plans were finalized this Autumn with world renowned producer Dennis Herring to work with Hoarsebox on their debut album scheduled for release in Spring 2010. Herring, who has produced seminal albums from bands such as Modest Mouse, The Hives, Counting Crowes to solo artists such as Elvis Costello, works from his studio in Mississippi where the band have already begun working with him on pre-production and where recording itself for the album will commence in February 2010.
