Grown Into Nothing
Grown Into Nothing is a 5 piece Metal band from Norway with an aggressive and energetic take on the modern day metal scene. As Norway is mostly known for its big impact on black metal, these men set it as their goal to be the ones to expand their country’s reputation, including it to be an innovative scene for metal with hardcore elements. Through wildly engaging live shows, fierce metal riffs and the groove and aggression of hardcore they hope to succeed in showing the world a new side to Norwegian music export. Re-established in 2010, the members came from different musical backgrounds. Brothers and founding members Robert and Peter Bains had played together in the hardcore metal band that was to become today’s Grown Into Nothing since 2005, guitarist Erlend Nibe played in several metal bands, bass player Erlend L. Solbu had made a name for himself as a major player in the hardcore punk scene whilst drummer Elling F. Snøfugl had his background in the indie rock community. Staying true to metal, their sound was revitalized and their approach to songwriting broadened. Having puzzled together the perfect key players, Grown Into Nothing was quickly considered one of the few dominant actors within the scene of their home town. 2011 was the year they finally got to record their debut album ‘Endeavour’. Bringing Tue Madsen of Antfarm Studios in for the mix led them to joining the ranks of August Burns Red, Himsa, Heaven Shall Burn & Suicide Silence. They are now more than ever focused on making their impact on the metal world. Album release is set to October 11th 2012.
