Gristle

Conceived in 2000, by founder PATRICK OLIVAS – Guitar, GRISTLE has been tearing it up throughout their decade and going existence. GRISTLE started out with PATRICK – Rhythm Guitar/ Vocals, BRYON CALDERON – Bass, RUBEN YESCAS – Lead Guitar and TOM LANCASTER – Drums. Just starting out, GRISTLE, minus RUBEN, was playing two shows a week for months. It wasn’t until 2002, with a new lineup consisting of PATRICK – Rhythm/Lead Guitar, TOU HER – Bass, MIKE REAL – Drums and TIM CHARLONE – Vocals, that our Debut self titled cd came out. With steady practice and steady shows. In 2007, our 2nd cd, “The Origin of Chuck”, came out, and yet again, with a new lineup. This arsenal was PATRICK – Rhythm/Lead Guitar, TOU – Bass, NICK ELLIOTT – Vocals, and KEVIN DORITY – Drums. With the departure of TOU moving over to MEDIUM late in the year, BRYON came back to take over Bass. In 2008, KEVIN departed and moved on to DOG EAR JONES and MIKE REAL came back to Drum along with PATRICK – Rhythm/Lead Guitar, BRYON – Bass and NICK – Vocals. The shows were flying by and Big things were happening everywhere. With this solid lineup in 2009, came the 3rd GRISTLE album “The Rise of Chuck”. Shortly after the release, NICK moved on to EVISCERATION, and we brought in JOEPH CACIOPPO to do Vocals. 2010, came the departure of MIKE, and JOEPH. JOEPH moved on to DISARM THE TYRANT. We took on GARY SMALLZ for Drums and RUBEN LARA for Vocals. XANDER RAYMOND came in to take the place of RUBEN, and JOHNNY VALLES took the place of GARY on Drums. We set off to HOLLYWOOD to play the World Famous WHISKY A GO GO, and not long after, JOHNNY departed to ATOMIC VIOLENCE full time. The line up then consisted of PATRICK – Rhythm/Lead Guitar, ADAM SMITH – Bass, JAMES SAYRE - Vocals, and PETER RUACHO - Drums. JAMES left and we picked up BRETT MCINTYRE, July of 2011 and ADAM moved on to COUSIN FISTER, and BLIND DISCIPLE, so we picked up CHRIS SPURLING in Dec of 2011. With this new lineup, we are still going strong and have just released our 5th cd "PRIAPISM" along with a 2 song EP of "Necessary Evil" and "Silver Tongue".
