Gina Rene

From Soulful vocals dipped in Gold dropped over acoustic guitar to Poetic spoken word and Rap over Hip-Hop beats to spitting truth like a minister of sound over dub, Trap or bass heavy beats Gina René is a force to be reckoned with. Recently she was in the studio with Michael Franti and Spearhead whose title track “All People” she co-wrote and features her vocals. Gina has been sharing her talent in the mainstream where her wide appeal shines through her co-writing and recording with her brothers, Gabriel and Chris Rene, including the 2012 hit song “Young Homie” as well as "MeanGurl" from Paramount film’s 2004 "Meangirls” starring Lindsey Lohan, and "U Must Be”, co-written by Artstrong Clarion, which was featured in the 2006 film "Step Up". In 2011 Gina made it into the top 50 on The XFactor USA after trekking her reluctant younger brother Chris onto the show who left taking 3rd place. Gina's vocals were born out of the collaboration with her brother Gabriel and High School friends Mei-Lwun Yee and Andy Caldwell to activate the electronic music phenomenon Soulstice (Om Records), while her original music blends R&B/Soul, Hip-Hop, Pop to Rock to sounds inspired by the Effect-heavy dub roots of reggae and the mystique and power of music from around the world. Gina is the grand daughter of the late songwriter and composer and entrepreneur Leon René who penned the R&B and Jazz classics "Rockin Robin" & "When It's Sleepy time Down South" which became Louis Armstrong's theme song. Leon also was also owner of the first west coast black independent label on the west coast, Class Records. With this deep history in her bones it's no surprise that this inspiring Songstress shines best by playing within many musical genres, weaving a tapestry of soundscapes that connect with listeners from all walks of life.
