Geoff Samuels

Geoff Samuels (aka 3 Chord Geoff) is a native New Yorker, but arrived in the Catskills back in 1970 via Los Angeles with a band he had been playing with called “The Snow Brothers” His early influences were late 50’s Pop and Rockabilly and, after having started on the piano at the age of 8, switched to guitar in the early 60’s when the Beatles came out. “I learned every George Harrison lick on the Meat the Beatles album” After building a house virtually single handedly, Geoff installed a small studio where he began writing and recording many of the songs that he performs today. More recently, Geoff has continued to record more of his original music at several studios in the Hudson Valley, enlisting the help of other notable area musicians such as Cindy Cashdollar, Eric Parker, Jimmy Eppard and Mike DeMicco. Since arriving in the area, Geoff has played more than a thousand gigs; either as a bass player, or as a solo acoustic singer/songwriter. At his solo gigs, he offers not only his acclaimed originals, but his own tasty versions of some of his favorite artist such as Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Mark Knopfler, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty.
