In celebration of the Replacements' reunion show at Midway Stadium on Sept. 13, local designers, printers and musicians will be taking part in a benefit event that will bring together posters and music in downtown Saint Paul. The event will take place Aug. 24 at the new Hamilton Ink Spot and Amsterdam Bar and Hall on Wabasha Street. The event will serve as a benefit for Replacements guitarist Slim Dunlap, who went down with a stroke in February, 2012. Twenty-two local designers will create and print limited edition posters commemorating the Midway Stadium concert. Posters will be for sale at the Hamilton Ink Spot beginning at 4 p.m. that Sunday. Immediately following the exhibition local bands (including Curtiss A, Crossing Guards, Stereo Rules, the Pinata Hearts, Terry Walsh, Joe Fahey & The Bottom 40, Brian Drake & The April Fools, The Frye and more) will perform a tribute show of Replacements songs on both stages at the Amsterdam Bar and Hall.
