How can the well continue to exist in a world of gray?  This alone is the reason why the mighty dare to tread.  They will faulter many times along their journey.  Their only hope is to reach the well and overload directly from the source.  Only then will the Gray lose all control, shivering away into the spectrum....the infinite spectrum that is the well.
