Fear The Living

From Fort Mcmurray, a town known for working hard and partying harder comes Fear the Living. Combining low end growl with soaring guitar licks, a relentless battery of drum grooves and a guttural vocal delivery that is truly unique in Northern Alberta, the band delivers metal heavy enough that it should require a wide load spotter truck. Fear the Living’s crushing sound is dished out by a killer rhythm section comprised of Matt Forbes and Mikey Lyons. Double bass, thoughtful rolls, and melodic bass lines build a foundation strong enough to plant the heaviest of metal. The guitarists, main riff wizard Trevor Butler and new comer Ryan Chaisson bring to bear a vicious palm mute attack, musical sensibility, and scorching guitar lines that serve to catch the ear and eye. All of this functions as the ground on which Jesse Neufeld brutally articulates highly personal and thought provoking lyrics. The high energy live show, coupled with the bands massive sound and enthusiastic approach to musicianship, makes it the perfect soundtrack for shooting Jäger, thrashing out, and leaving it all in the mosh pit. Influenced by a vast and eclectic catalog of classic and modern metal, the sound defies categorization and is best described as HEAVY. 2014 will be a big year for Fear the Living as the band finishes recording the debut EP, and continues to batter Western Canadian audiences with their unrelenting sonic assault. Fear the Living is Uncompromising Northern Alberta Metal.
