Doublewide

Doublewide is an American alternative rock band based in Lafayette, Louisiana. The band was formed in 2011 when singer songwriter Matthew Thornton moved to Louisiana from Colorado to play music with longtime friend and drummer Dave Nezat. Doublewide's music has been inspired by a wide variety of artists and styles including Pearl Jam, Wilco, Waylon Jennings, Motorhead, Bad Religion, ACDC and The Clash. The band's debut album "Doublewide" is an album recorded with friends from Colorado and Louisiana. With songs written by Thornton and produced by Nezat, the album became a grand mix of rock, cajun and countrified glory, gaining regional airplay with songs like "Cow" and "My Bud". After playing as a duo on Doublewide's first self titled studio release, the band added Justin Lewis on guitar and Shannon May on bass. With the addition of the permanent members, Doublewide's sound became the 70's hard country style their fans have grown to love. A second studio album "2" (a double album) is set to be released in 2016.
