Doc Metzger & snake oil

Russell "Doc" Metzger, singer/songwriter, know as a "Colorist" for his paintings in the Fine Arts (russellmetzgerstudio.com), is originally from Oskaloosa, Kansas. Doc played in bands in the Kansas City area in the early 80's, and performed in the singer/songwriter clubs in Nashville, TN in the 90's, as well as, performing on "The Nashville Network" in 1993 with his brother Martin under the name of "The Winchesters." Disgusted with Nashville, for similar reasons as two of his heros, Waylon and Willie, Doc left Nashville for New Mexico in 1999, but kept writing. In 2004-05, Doc recorded "Doc Metzger and the Militaristic Hippies" which won the New Mexico Music Awards for "Best Musical Production, Country" for the song "A Home blessed with Love." That song was his Bio in a song. He had kids to feed, and put his musical aspirations on hold. In the meantime the "Art World" was beginning to discover his unique paintings, and because of his Fine Art he was introduced to Paul Davids (a Hollywood movie producer, Roswell, Sci-Fi Boys etc) by a gallery owner in Santa Fe. Paul noticed Doc's guitar when they met and ask him to play him a song, and one month latter they were both in Nashville recording Doc & his brother Martin for one of Paul's animated projects, "Scarlett May Blossom," and recorded several tracks in Kitty Wells studio. The project didn't get off the ground, but a year later Paul was filming a movie "Before We Say Goodbye," and wanted to use two of the songs Doc and his brother Martin written in the movie (Keep A Level Swing, and David's Song), plus offered Doc a bit part as a street thug. The movie, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1668050/, was distributed by Universal Studios, and has been seen throughout Central, and South America, and broadcast on a cable network in the U.S. as well. Paul and Doc did a series of collaborations in Fine Art, with much success (Google Russell Metzger, artist, New Mexico and you can read articles from Wrangler Jeans, to Princeton Alumni Weekly, etc., Paul is a Princeton Grad ). Because of their work together Doc was introduced to Denise Roman, the owner of Gallery Tesla in Sedona, AZ, who in turn introduced him to Cynthia Ikes, the manager of her gallery. Unbeknownst to Doc, Cynthia had musical connections. Later that evening at Denise's home, Doc was asked to play and sing them a song on his guitar. Cynthia approached Doc several weeks lager after having listened to a CD that he had left her and asked him if he wanted to play "out" again? Because Doc's youngest son, Marshall, had just received a soccer scholarship to Cal State Fullerton, and the fact that his paternal obligations were coming to an end, the timing was right, and his answer was "yes!" Cynthia booked Doc as a solo acoustic act at "The House of Blues" on the Sunset Strip in L.A. for April 30th, 2015. Like a fine wine, Doc's music gets better with age. His music, for the most part, he calls "music with a message." Influenced by Dylan, Lennon, Harrison, Johnny Cash, Waylon, Willie, and Hank Jr., Doc's music has his own sound, which was influenced by his early childhood years in Kansas.
