Indie Soul sensation Dexter Kendrick has a new attitude. With a whole new team, a polished new look, and new music infused with fire from his spirit, he has shed his more experimental beginnings, and is entering into the ring of indie soul a force to be reckoned with. His EP “Prelude”, is an emphatic follow up to his critically acclaimed 2011 LP, Galaxy: A Memoir. When asked what he has learned in the 5 years since his last project Dexter states “The state of music has changed dramatically in such a short timeframe. In today's climate an artist must be accessible, personable, and memorable. I intend to fully embody these three elements with my craft.” For lovers of soul music, Prelude takes a walk down memory lane. Inspired by the soul music of the 70's, the songs on this album are infused with the climate and emotion of America's current social and political energy.
