Bio

On the 3rd July 1973 I was walking out of assembly at school and class mate Rob Lynch came up behind me and slapped both my ears. I collapsed in a heap... the look on his face was sheer horror, but the damage had been done my ear drums had been perforated. That same evening news came through Ziggy Stardust the new music phenomenon of a generation was no more. On this day DeafboyOne was born... (its my Deaf "Sign" name) my life has been an emotional roller coaster ever since. I've now decided to record everything I ever wrote, performed and recorded before I become Profoundly Deaf. Im already Deaf but can hear a little with the aid of hearing aids. I can communicate through music and Sign Language. This is my story. Welcome to the world of DeafboyOne. There are 25 myspace sites unleashing music across the web. Each song tells its own story, some happy, some sad, some eccentric and some just plain daft. The DeafboyOne 17th site is so called because 17 was the age I played my first gig at Icknield Youth Club, Wantage Oxford England. Wantage was a small market town where in the 70s as a teenager you made your own entertainment... as kids we'd frequent the beer n cigarette establishments like The Abingdon Arms, The Bear Hotel, The Blue Boar, The Shoulder of Mutton, King Alfreds Kitchen, Post Office Tavern, The Swan, Chatterbox Cafe or we'd head up The Rec (Steve would down a Bottle of Piriton (my hayfever tablets) with Jack Daniels just to see what it was like or we'd sit on the bench outside Peter B Ledburys Electrical Shop in the market square (more oval shaped than square shaped) and "gas" with the local Bikers like 'Billy', 'Eli' or 'Sweaty Betty'. Highlight of the week? There would be a "Ruckus" when the Jockey Lads from Lambourne would turn up at The Swan Disco on Saturday Night (Alright for Fighting). It usually spilled over into the churchyard next door... few cuts few bruises but this was Wantage 1975... by 76 Punk arrived... boy was that fun! Stay tuned... Regards Pete - DeafboyOne
