Dave DeLuca

Dave DeLuca has been performing music since he was 7 years old. Born in New York and raised in New Jersey he has played guitar and piano in bands and as a solo performer throughout the East and West Coast for almost 20 years. Dave was the first ever Grand Prize winner of the American Song Festival in 1977, the most prestigious songwriting contest of the time. His song, Home To Stay, was judged the best song of over 30,000 entrants by such Panel Judges as Loggins and Messina and Seals and Crofts. Dave has been produced by legendary engineer producer Shelly Yakus as well as by Andrew Woolfolk, one of the founding members of Earth Wind and Fire. But his musical success came as a staff songwriter for Motown Records, where he had his songs recorded by Smokey Robinson, Johnny Mathis, The Manhattans and Debarge.In fact, he had a top five Billboard record with Smokey Robinson entitled, Blame It On Love." After years writing songs for others, a major shift away from music occured as Dave became more and more involved with the personal and spiritual growth movement of the 90's. During this time Dave became a devoted student and teacher of Vedanta, the original wisdom of Oneness of ancient India. As a result Dave become one of the most passionate teachers of Vedanta, speaking and leading seminars at New Thought Churches, Vedanta Temples, Learning Centers and Universities all over the country. It was during this time that Dave edited two books of collections of some of the most revered spiritual teachings of India. And it was during this time that Dave's love for instrumental piano started to blossom again as his focus moved away from guitar and songs to piano and compositions.
