Dan Patrick Fulton

Heart forever on his sleeve, Dan Patrick Fulton plays a hopeful but bruised brand of love song. Dan's songwriting career started in the Minneapolis, MN area where a high school crush inspired his first real song. Recording a demo of it kicked of a life-long addiction to writing and recording. The habit followed Dan to St. Louis, where he started his first band while in college. It follows him still in Los Angeles, where he writes and records songs of heartbreak and healing with influences as varied as Bob Seger, Glen Hansard, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Nirvana and Pink Floyd. His voice has been compared to that of Eddie Vedder, Michael Stipe, and Adam Duritz and his songs are reminiscent of artists like Ryan Adams, Jason Isbell, Bruce Springsteen and Damien Rice. It's music you might call Americana with a bleeding, Celtic heart. After the breakup of his college band Tin Whiskey (originally called The Grey), Dan began writing more personal songs, detailing the triumphs and failures of his life and relationships. He spent several years recording home demos and sharing them with friends. When he entered the Guitar Center Singer-Songwriter contest in 2013 and made the semi-finals, Dan knew it was time to start taking music more seriously. In 2013, Dan began a musical partnership with singer Becca Flinn. The two played venues in Los Angeles like the Voodoo Lounge at House Of Blues and eventually went on a homecoming tour in the Midwest, stopping in Minneapolis, St. Louis and Sioux Falls, SD. If there's one theme in his music, it's the desire to expose the truth of one's feelings to a lover, a brother, a friend, or the world. In the summer of 2014, Dan was ready to truly show himself to the world and began raising the money to go into the studio. His crowdfunding campaign was successful enough that the recording project was expanded from a six-song EP into a full-length album. Currently, Dan is preparing the release of that debut album. Brave The Light is the culmination of years of hope, heartache, living, and songwriting. Each track gives the listener a glimpse into the beauty and frailty of human relationships. The title is an invitation to be one's most authentic self and the record tells the story of what it means to face the world honestly. Dan continues to write songs and play shows in the Los Angeles area and is anxious to begin work on the next project.
